Salvatore Palumbo starts a carpentry and metal fabrication yard to support the ship repair industry, in Naples. Quickly the business brought quality and results, and in the 1980s the main activity became hull repair and maintenance. Today, we are an internationally recognized player in the industry.
With immense pride, the first 54-metre Columbus Yachts superyacht, "Prima," was launched in 2011. This milestone marked a decisive step forward launching the group into new and important challenges.
Important period that saw the acquisitions of two world-class brands such as ISA Yachts and Mondomarine at the core of Palumbo Superyachts' business strategy. Then, in 2018 we were ready to launch the new Extra Yachts brand.
The family decided to invest in the luxury shipbuilding segment, leading to the creation of the Superyachts division in 2008 under the Columbus Yachts brand. Rooted in family values of dedication and hard work, these principles are now directed towards the pursuit of perfection in the luxury world.
Our constant commitment to developing and deploying new technologies was rewarded with significant recognition: we became the first company in the world to earn the Rina Hybrid Propulsion certification with the Columbus Sport Hybrid 40 metres.
